Casting Set offers contain the following:

*Melting Pot
*Figure Mold (your choice of a Medieval Knight, Civil War
Silicon Rubber Mold SR15 (figure can be
painted as either a Union or Confederate soldier), Coldstream Guard
silicone rubber mold SR95, a 3 figure American Infantry WW2 action mold, Metal
Civil War Action mold 6093, or a 3 figure action metal World War II 6086
mold. Silicone Rubber Molds (designated by "SR") produce the
best results as they are easy to cast.
*Ingot of casting metal (composition 10% Tin, 11% Antimony, 79% Lead).
This ingot will make 5 to 6 54mm (21/4") figures. You may substitute an
ingot of lead-free pewter for an additional $3.50.
*2 Mold Clamps ((when a rubber mold is selected or one metal clamp and a
pair of wood mold handles, when the metal mold is selected).

Point of interest:
Until the 1970's all of our molds were made of the Zinc Alloy "Zymac".
Most of these metal molds contained 3 figure cavities. The steel tooling necessary
to make these molds was completed from 1930-1955. Tooling costs during that period
were very low (only several hundred dollars).
During the 1970's silicone rubber molds were developed. These rubber molds could accept metal pouring temperatures similar to the Zinc alloy molds, but certain very important advantages were obtainable. The rubber molds could reproduce finer detail, allow for slight undercuts because of their flexibility, and were easier to pour successfully.
The disadvantage was that the tooling costs for a single cavity mold increased to over $2000. This cost increase was not due solely to the change in the mold type, but primarily material and toolmaker wage costs of the 70's till now, far exceeded those of the 30's, 40's, and 50's.
This information has been presented so our customers can understand why a 3 figure cavity metal mold is less costly than the single cavity rubber mold.
